Founder and Principal Alex Reyna has over 13 years of experience providing a wide variety of traffic engineering services, including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal warrant studies and signal design, trip generation studies, toll feasibility models and studies, and microsimulation traffic models. In addition to his experience in providing these services during his tenure in the private sector, he has also worked at the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) performing transportation research while attending the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Mr. Reyna is committed to the profession and has been involved with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) since 1999. He has served on several ITE committees and was an officer for the Capital Area Section from 2008-2011 and served as Section Representative to the Texas District (TexITE) from 2012-2013. Mr. Reyna is serving again as Section Representative until December 2017.
In February , Mr. Reyna was appointed to the City of Austin Urban Transportation Commission by Council Member Jimmy Flannigan. Mr. Reyna is honored to be serving on the City of Austin Commission and looks forward in working closely with City of Austin Transportation Department.
Mr. Reyna is also part of the Regional Issues Committee for the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee. In 2013, Mr. Reyna was recognized as one of Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Texas and Louisiana “Top 20 Under 40” and awarded the TexITE Younger Member of the Year Award.
Mr. Reyna’s philosophy is that active civic involvement is an integral part of being a civil engineer and promoting the profession. It is this philosophy that guides Reyna, Inc. in its goal to provide innovative and safe transportation solutions that eventually become a part of the communities we live in and serve.
